A comparison of old Dish Maxi, old Dish Platinum and new Dish Platinum

A comparison of old Dish Maxi, old Dish Platinum and new Dish Platinum Well there has been a lot of confusion regarding the new packs that had been launched by Dish TV. So I am putting up a comparison here which would help others choose the best. As for me, I find Dish Platinum (North) better than the old Dish Maxi (North). The comparison is made betwwen 3 packs : Dish Maxi Old (North), Dish Platinum Old (North) and Dish Platinum New (North).

Dish Maxi (Old & Existing until further notice) :

* Does not include CNBC Pack (CNBC TV 18, CNBC Aawaz, CNN IBN),
* Does not include Timely Favourites (Times Now, Zoom),
* Does not include Colors,
* Includes Star One, Hungama, Disney and Jetix,
* Does not include Real, WB,
* Does not include Focus TV and Hamar.

Total Cost : Rs.337 + Rs.22 (Colors) + Rs.27 (CNBC) + Rs.27 (Timely Favourites) + (Some more for Real, WB, Focus and Hamar - Cost of these chs still unknown) = Rs.413.

Dish Platinum (Old) : To be a defunct pack w.e.f. 28th Apr 09

* Does not include CNBC Pack (CNBC TV 18, CNBC Aawaz, CNN IBN),
* Does not include Timely Favourites (Times Now, Zoom),
* Includes Colors,
* Does not include Star One, Hungama, Disney and Jetix,
* Not known if it would have included Real, WB, Focus and Hamar.

Total Cost : Rs.309 + Rs.27 (CNBC) + Rs.27 (Timely Favourites) + Rs.39 (Starry Pack) + (Unknown cost for Real, WB, Focus and Hamar) = Rs.402.

Dish Platinum (New) :

* Includes CNBC Pack (CNBC TV 18, CNBC Aawaz, CNN IBN),
* Includes Timely Favourites (Times Now, Zoom),
* Colors is included when you add Color-full as top-up,
* Includes Star One, Hungama, Disney and Jetix,
* Includes Real, WB, Focus and Hamar.

Total Cost : Rs.312 + Rs.22 (Colors - Optional) = Rs.334.

So the bottom line is ::: The new Dish Platinum North pack rocks for the North customers.
