MUMBAI: Abraham Thomas has bid farewell to Red FM, the organisation he nurtured from scratch for five years.

The veteran industry man, who came from advertising into television and then helmed Red FM as COO 'from nowhere to leadership position', has decided to move on and end 'his dream run' with the organisation. Speaking exclusively to Radioandmusic.com, Thomas said his last day at the organisation would be on Friday and that he is considering a short break while he evaluates a couple of options for the future.

'Abe' as he is known in the industry, took over Red FM when it ran just three stations, saw it climb to number one position, and oversaw the recent merger of sister brand SFM, bringing with it 45 stations of its own under the hugely popular Red FM brand.

Sources say Abe's post could be filled internally from the organisation. Sources within Red FM say although Nisha Narayanan would be overlooking the programming of the station. While Abe declined to comment on his future plans, it is learnt that he plans to either start his own venture or take up an offer from another radio venture.

He started his career with The Indian Express and became All-India Head of Ad Sales. Later, he joined Sony Entertainment Network as Director - Sales for SET, MAX and AXN channels. Thomas then moved to MTV Networks heading revenues for MTV, Nickelodeon and Vh1.

On the radio front, Abe joined Red FM as COO in March 2005.
