Indian IPTV operator Aksh Optifibre, which delivers its service 'icontrol' over the fixed-line networks of telcos including MTNL and BSNL, has introduced time shifting features for a number of popular pay channels, including Sony, SAB and Discovery.
The new feature enables subscribers to pause, rewind and fast-forward programmes from the past three days, with the time shifting controlled from a backend server. Aksh Optifibre's icontrol service offers over 125 linear channels, as well as a shopping platform called 'icontrol mall', a video-on-demand library, interactive advertising, games and parental controls.
“Living up to our commitment of providing world-class entertainment experiences at cost-effective prices, we have now introduced time shift features on pay channels like SONY, SAB, Discovery, etc," said Namrata Sengupta, Deputy General Manager of Aksh Optifibre. "We want to give the best viewing experience to our subscribers.”
Aksh is already providing IPTV services in Delhi and Mumbai over the fixed-line network of MTNL, and under a similar agreement with BSNL is in the process of rolling out icontrol to twenty more cities in northern India.
