MUMBAI: Asianet is celebrating Onam in a big way this year and has lined up an entertaining bouquet of interviews, films, special programmes and music-based shows.
The two-week programme that began on 14 August (Atham Day) will continue till 25 August (Avittam Day).
The Uthradam day on 22 August will mark the premiere of three films - Kadha Samvidhanam Kunchacko, Utharaswayamvaram and Moz & Cat. It will also feature a close-up of super star Suresh Gopi. Other programmes of the day includes review of Onam release films Onachithrangal 2010, a chat show with celebrity couples Kushboo and Sundar.
Thiruvonam day on 23 August starts with a chat show with Sudha Chandran and her family and R. Sreekandan Nair Nammal (Thammil fame) interviewing South india's popular actor Prithwi Raj, after which the stars named films like Puthiya Mugham, Passenger and Kerala Varma Pazhasiraja would premiere on the channel.
A musical chat show with Meera Jasmine and top five contestants of Idea Star Singer Season 4 would follow. The other attraction of the day would be a humorous skit, Onathinidayil Puttukachavadam, by leading comedy/mimicry artistes of Malayalam cinema. An interview with popular star Dilip is also scheduled for the day.
Avittam day on 24 August will see the premiere of Dr. Patient and Loud Speaker. A chat show with leading actress of Malayalam film industry and an interview with actress Kavya Madhavan are the other attractions of the day. A comedy talk show with leading comedy artistes will also be telecast.
And on the day of Chathayam on 25 August, there would be a free wheeling chat show with actress and Miss World runner up Parvathy Omanakuttan. Premieres of films like Yugapurushan and Vairam are also scheduled for the day. An interview with Archbishop Mar Christom is expected the grab the viewer's attention on the same day.
