Bloomberg UTV and the Foundation for International Taxation (FIT) have come together in a first-of-its kind collaboration to bring you a detailed report on the International Taxation Conference 2009. Bloomberg UTV and FIT along with E&Y, KPMG, PwC, Deloitte and BMR Advisors will compile a report on the conference. The report will be distributed to 250 of the top CEOs and CFOs in the taxation community in India.

The report will provide an informed background on some of the current international taxation issues and the views expressed on them by some of the leading experts in India and abroad speaking at the conference. There will be a detailed synopsis of each of the presentations made at the conference which will look at the speakers' notes and messages as well as their comments and conclusions. Hence, the report will give an opportunity to analyse and expand on the issues presented or debated in the presentations at the conference.

Bloomberg UTV hosted a panel discussion on 14th December at the Intercontinental, Marine Drive. The panel moderated by Mr. Govindraj Ethiraj, Editor-in-chief, Bloomberg UTV consisted of Mr. Sanjay Kapadia, Executive Director, Tax & Regulatory Service, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ms. Shefali Garodia, Partner, BMR Advisors, Mr. Uday Ved, Executive Director & Head of Tax, KPMG, Mr. Vipul Jhaveri, Partner, Deloitte, Haskins & Sells, Ms. Geeta Jani, Partner, Tax & Regulatory Services, Ernst & Young, and Mr. Kiran Umrootkar Director, Foundation of International Taxation. The key topics covered in the panel discussion were international tax developments, international tax structuring for investing abroad, Direct Taxes, transfer pricing issues and issues affecting source based taxation.

It is anticipated that the first draft of the report will be prepared by 18 December, and the final copy ready for dispatch by 10 January 2010. Bloomberg UTV intends to hold a second panel discussion in mid-January following the completion of the report to discuss in detail the findings in the report.

Note: The Foundation for International Taxation is a not-for-profit charitable trust in India with the sole purpose to promote the knowledge and practice of international taxation.
