Gionee had launched the Marathon M5 Plus in China in December last year. About six months after the China launch, the company has has launched the Marathon M5 Plus in India. Priced at Rs 26,999, the smartphone is available online exclusively via Flipkart, and is also available across its retail outlets offline. The smartphone comes in two color variants – champagne gold and polar gold.

As is the case with Gionee’s Marathon series, the talking point of the Marathon M5 Plus is its large 5,020 mAh battery, which the company says can give up to 21 hours of talktime and a standby time of up to 619 hours. The smartphone comes with a dual charge technology, which the company claims prevents from overheating and enables fast charging.

The Marathon M5 Plus also features a fingerprint sensor embedded into the physical home button. The smartphone also supports 4G and VoLTE features which is another key feature of the smartphone.

Gionee Marathon M5 Plus specifications and features:

The Marathon M5 Plus features a 6-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) AMOLED display with 2.5D glass. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Also on offer is 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

On the photography front the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. On the connectivity front, options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB Type-C port are included. The phone has three inbuilt card slot design. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop wrapped under Amigo 3.1 UI.

The Gionee Marthon M5 Plus is an upgraded variant of the Marathon M5, which was launched in India in November last year. The Gionee Marathon M5 has a 5.5-inch 720p AMOLED display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 32GB of internal storage and supports microSD slot for additional storage.

The Marathon M5 is equipped with a larger 6,020mAh battery. The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel selfie camera. Connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. On the software front the smartphone runs Amigo 3.1 UI based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
