Besides the latest Android version, Android security patches for the month of March are also includes as a part of the update.

Lenovo announced the roll out of the Android Marshmallow 6.0 update on its official forums . “We expect Marshmallow to be rolling out for the Vibe P1, P1A42, over the next few days,” the post reads. Scrolling down the post shows users in India reporting that they have started receiving the Marshmallow update on their phones.

Users are reporting about getting a notification for an update, called S263_160427_ROW. The update is 1.67GB in size so we would advise you to be connected to a Wi-Fi network. The OS update brings with it Android Marshmallow 6.0 goodies like Google Now on Tap for contextual search, Doze mode to hibernate the background apps when the smartphone is not in use for some time and new app permissions to control the information you share with apps.
