The Panasonic Eluga A2 comes with brush metal finish at the back and metal frames. On the front, you have the selfie camera, earpiece, proximity and ambient light sensors and the display with very thin bezels on the side. Turn to the back, you have the camera module and LED flash on the top and the speaker grille at the bottom. The smartphone weighs just 167g.

Panasonic Eluga A2 specifications, features:

It features a 5-inch HD (720p) display and a 1GHz quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone also comes with 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot with support for up to 128GB.

In the photography department, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. With a 4,000mAh battery, connectivity options include GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth and dual SIM 4G LTE with VoLTE support (SIM 1 – 4G, SIM 2 – 3G/2G). On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS wrapped under Panasonic’s FitHome UI. The Panasonic Eluga A2 will be offered in metallic gold and metallic silver color variants.

At this price point, the Eluga A2 will face tough competition from the likes of Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus , Asus Zenfone Max (ZC550KL) , Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (16GB+2GB RAM) and the Meizu m3 Note . The Vibe K5 Plus is priced at Rs 8,499 and comes equipped with a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display, an octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM.

The ZenFone Max (ZC550KL) from Asus is priced at Rs 9,999 and features a 5.5-inch HD (720p) display, an octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It also features a 5,000mAh battery with reverse charging feature, allowing you use the smartphone as a powerbank to charge other devices.

Meizu’s m3 Note will set you back by Rs 9,999 and features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display, MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It also comes with a metal unibody design and a fingerprint scanner embedded inside the home button. Lastly, there is Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 (16GB storage + 2GB of RAM) priced at Rs 9,999. It features a metal unibody design, fingerprint scanner at the back, 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display and Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor.

On paper, the competitors are offering more than Panasonic’s Eluga A2, giving them a clear advantage. However, we will reserve our judgment until we review the smartphone.
