MUMBAI: China Central Television (CCTV) has launched an Arabic language channel that will be beamed to the Middle East and Africa.
The new channel will be accessible via signals from Arabsat and Nilesat.
Additionally, it will also reach the Asia-Pacific region via Chinasat 6B.
The 24-hour channel will produce nine programmes under four categories- news, feature stories, entertainment and education. The programmes will be run by units every four hours and will be re-broadcast six times a day.
CCTV currently broadcasts in English, Spanish and French.
