In the recent spate of attacks on Indian students in Australia, CNN-IBN takes you to the land down under and tries to find out the real situation in the country. Watch a CNN-IBN Exclusive – ‘Inside Australia’ on Saturday 11th July at 10.00 PM & Sunday 12th July at 9.30 PM. The show is a must watch for students who want to study in Australia and parents who have kids studying or are planning to send their kids to Australia.
The show will look at why the Australian government sees the attacks as an ‘opportunistic crime’ and why does the Indian government see the matter as a question of ‘security’ for its students going abroad. The Indian media have termed these attacks as ‘racist’. The CNN-IBN team finds out which of these terms are absolute and can there be only one truth or a cocktail of issues as the root cause of these events.
CNN-IBN visits the locations where the attacks have been most frequent, profiles the attacker, whether he is really a true ‘Aussie’, the Attacked and why is he the ‘soft target’. The special show exposes a series of issues like Law & Order, Crime, Inadequate infrastructure and goes on to uncover the illegal education racket in both countries among other concerns that need to be addressed immediately to avert such attacks in the future. “Inside Australia” will also look at the corrective measures need to be taken by the students, the universities, and the government at both ends to make Australia once again a safe place for Indians.
Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief – IBN18 Network said, “The issue of the racist attacks in Australia has so far been seen in a black or a white shade. Inside Australia exposes the hidden grey as it unearths the problems at the grassroots level which have had repercussions at the national level and brings a true picture from down under.”
