Celebrate Independence Day SAB Ke Saath

It is that time of the year again when every Indian citizen’s heart fills with happiness, pride and patriotism. India is all set to celebrate its 63rd Independence Day this weekend.

SAB, India’s leading family comedy entertainment channel is gearing up to rejoice Independence Day in style. FIR, Lapataganj & Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabadwale will have interesting stories intertwined around August 15th, 2010.

In Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabadwale the story revolves around how Mr. Sharma‘s concerned as he realizes neither his office colleagues nor his society people are excited about the big day. He takes an initiative and organizes a flag hoisting ceremony in the society ensuring everybody’s participation. The entire society starts its preparations with Kids gearing up for their performances on songs like Nanha Munna Rahi hun and elders join in the celebrations with an entertaining sequence on Yeh Desh Hai Veer Jawanoon Ka. In the end the show leaves viewers with a message that we can give one day of our precious time towards our own nation and celebrate it with great pride.

Divyanka Tripathi aka Mrs Sharma said, “Independence Day always brings back the beautiful memories of school days for me when we used to enjoy performing extracurricular activities and eating sweets with our friends. This year, I plan to stay home and spend the whole day with my family watching my favorite patriotic flick.”

Another popular show from SAB TV, Lapataganj, also celebrated the day with a flag hoisting ceremony followed by sweet distribution. In the show Lapataganj residents wake up to an unexpected morning with water in their taps and light bulb working. They realize it is because its Independence Day. Later as usual biji goes and barks outside Maui’s house and she comes out and yells at him, and he states that as today is Independence Day he is free to do whatever he wants. Kachua and sughandi try to make him understand the true meaning of independence that has been earned by all the freedom fighters. Biji is given a challenge to survive one day of British rule in lapataganj.As the story unfolds Biji has realization of the importance of Independence Day & the struggle undergone by freedom fighters to achieve Independence from britishers.

Abbas Khan, our Biji Pandey said, “It was a great experience re-enacting the entire British era sequence. I look forward to Independence Day every year and this year I plan to spend my whole day with children at the Municipal Corporation near my house.”

Chandramukhi Chautala, the go-getter Haryanvi cop of F.I.R will be fighting a terrorist Bullet Boxer who has plotted for the Minister’s death and trapped Gopi, Gulgule and Inspector Aryan due to which they get imprisoned for 6-months. The Independence Day episode will see some fun filled, spine chilling excitement as Ms Chautala lays down a plan to catch the terrorist and rescue her team members. At the end she challenges the terrorist that she will hoist flag at the Police station.

Kavita Kaushik aka Chandramukhi Chautala said, “This Independence Day I would like to highlight that what we are lacking is love and compassion towards one another. Through our show, we aim to bring smiles to people’s faces. I would like to thank and salute our police force for always being there for us in difficult times.”

Swapnil Joshi aka Vinaychand from Papad Pol will make this day special for school children at the Municipal school in Kandiwali.He said, “ I celebrate this day every year with these kids and we hoist the flag and have fun filled activities on Independence day.”
