Coca-Cola India launches the Burn MTV Ultimate DJ Championship

~Burn Partners With MTV To Launch The ‘Burn MTV Ultimate DJ Championship - A Submerge Property” - One-of-Kind National Talent Search to Uncover the Country’s Hottest DJ ~

~ Budding DJs from the 4 metros - Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata to battle it out at this one-of-a-kind national talent hunt to uncover the hottest DJ in the country ~

Mumbai, August 31st, 2010: Burn, Coca-Cola’s globally successful premium energy drink in association with MTV, India’s ultimate youth destination, launches a first of its kind talent hunt ‘Burn MTV Ultimate DJ Championship – A Submerge Property’, to unearth India’s next clubbing sensation. This one-of-a-kind battle is being undertaken with an aim to provide enthusiasts from the DJ and music communities with a unique opportunity to showcase their creativity and talent of mixing skills. Spearheaded by none other than Submerge founder, Nikhil Chinapa, the final winner will earn the right to spin decks alongside trance Gods, Above & Beyond. That’s not it; the winner becomes the official Submerge & MTV resident DJ for 1 year, bags state-of-the art pioneer DJ gear and a slot at a leading UK Festival & lots more! Budding DJ contestants just need to log on to to submit their entries.

The special initiative is being rolled out to connect with trend setting, socially active and adventurous young adults who sport the right zeal and attitude to reach out to newer heights. Popularizing the concept of DJing, the initiative will reach out to all the youngsters from the DJ and music community.

To get their shot at taking their mixes out of their bedrooms and onto the dance floors, aspiring DJs just need to bring out your favourite tracks, throw in a few tricks and make the best, most awesome mix they possibly could. Next, they need to fill in the form, submit their mix and get the ball rolling towards the finals of the Ultimate DJ Championship! Aspiring DJ’s are required to upload one of their own mixes on

From all the entries that are uploaded, 15 participants will then be short-listed for the first round of eliminations. The chosen DJ talent across the four cities ones will get an opportunity to compete in the regional finals in:-

1) Mumbai - 3rd & 4th of September ‘10

2) Bengaluru - 4th & 5th of September ‘10

3) Delhi and Kolkata - 10th and 11th of September ‘10.

The regional finals will include an action packed performance by local DJ’s followed by a special performance by UK DJ legend, John '00' Fleming. Specially roped in by Submerge as the guest judge, the DJ legend has over 20 years of experience and countless albums and global tours. The panel of judges will then select one finalist from each regional round to appear in the grand finale in Mumbai on the 18th of September. Finally, the 4 chosen DJs will battle it out in the final mega spin-off on the turntables alongside Global trance Gods, Above & Beyond - an experience they’ll never forget!

To allow this, there will also be a Pro-DJ Experience workshop at the event for all participating DJs to hone their beat juggling and table turning techniques under the tutelage of other experienced and professional DJs.
