DTH News: Tata Sky to discontinue 10 channels from its platform

MUMBAI: Direct to home (DTH) operator Tata Sky has issued a notice stating that it will discontinue 10 channels from its platform for a variety of reasons.

The DTH operator has said it will discontinue Suddi TV, News 9, CVR News, CVR Health, CVR Spiritual Om, CVR News English, Onkar Only Truth, and Oscar Movies Bhojpuri for breach of contract.

It will also drop News 1 India for outstanding payment. The DTH operator will also discontinue Epic TV following a request from the broadcaster.

The 10 channels will cease to be on the platform three weeks from the date of publication of the notice.

Tata Sky currently has over 600 channels and services. Its footprints spread across 1.5 lakh towns with over 17 million connections in India.

Tata Sky is a joint venture between the Tata Sons and 21st Century Fox. Incorporated in 2001 and launched services in 2006, Tata Sky is India’s leading content distribution platform providing Pay TV and over the top (OTT) services.
