There are currently over 5 million Direct-to-home (DTH) subscribers in India and in the coming financial year, DTH operators aim to add another 2.5 million to this list.
On another note, it looks looks like political party BJP is helping out DTH operators to meet their targets in Karnataka. An TOI report states that the party is wooing voters by providing them with DTH connections.
The point is, whether you're getting the DTH connection as a gift from BJP, or whether you choose to buy one yourself purely because of your television addiction -- how frustrated are you going to be with your DTH connection at the end of the day, or a couple of months down the line?
TRAI's recent amendments in the Quality of Service and Redressal of Grievances regulations for DTH Services should bring some relief . However, there are some grievances among DTH subscribers that are still not addressed. In many cases, clearly, people do not have a choice of DTH providers.
Are you satisfied with your DTH operator, or have you been fooled by the ads and promises that they made while advertising their services? Do share your experiences.
