MUMBAI: News Corp's FX has inked a deal with Paramount Pictures and would be broadcasting DreamWorks Animation (DWA) titles.
The four-year pact with DWA distributor paramount will include all movies released from 2008-2012 including Monsters vs. Aliens, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.
Additionally upcoming movies like sequel to Kung Fu Panda and latest Shrek series will also be featured.
The movies will be screened as ad-supported TV premiers and will be primarily telecast on weekends and holidays, where FX can get to woo both audiences and advertisers.
Although actuals of the deal are not known, this deal is believed to be on the same lines of two major deals FX stitched last year - five movies from Marvel Studios amounting to approximately $110 million and 15 movies from NBC Uni amounting to $100 million.
Last month, FX acquired the rights to screen The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and You Don't Mess with the Zohan. Also, FX has acquired rights of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, sequel to Transformers that is slated for a 24 June release in the US.
