Coming October General Motors will commercially launch its electric car ‘e-Spark’ in India. The car was showcased at the 10th Auto Expo in New Delhi on Thursday.

While the car is expected to be priced at around Rs 7 lakh, it will be produced in technical collaboration with Reva Electric Company as Reva would provide the battery technology for the GM’s electric car.

"Initially we are looking to manufacture 5,000 units of the car (e-Spark). The car will roll out from our Talegaon, Maharashtra facility, beginning October this year,” said Karl Slym, president and managing director, GM India.

GM has increased its focus on the Indian small car segment. Two days back the company launched small car Beat, priced at an aggressive Rs 3.34 lakh.
