Brawn GP has officially been confirmed as a Formula One team after the FIA approved the name for Ross Brawn's outfit this week.
Brawn purchased Honda Racing earlier this month and changed the name to Brawn GP, but before the team could be officially unveiled as an F1 team they required the go-ahead fro motorsport's governing body.
But the FIA have now confirmed the team's status, and released a statement which read: "The Honda Racing F1 Team requested to change its name to the Brawn GP Formula One Team.
"The WMSC accepted this request on the basis that the team is, in effect, a new entry in the FIA Formula One World Championship.
"The contract the team had with the FIA was to run as 'Honda', which they are no longer in a position to do. However, the standard fee required for a new entry has been waived."
