MUMBAI: Fox History and Entertainment has launched a new nine-part series, Deadliest Warrior.

The show that airs every Monday at 10 pm pits the most feared warriors, the world has ever known, against each other to determine who reigns supreme.

From the greatest stealth fighters in American History to the crowd-thrilling killers of ancient Rome; the savage Scandinavian raiders to Japan's legendary masters of death; each week, the action packed series examines two groups of the world's most lethal men, analyzing their unique skills of destruction, their strengths, weaknesses and the weapons used.

Each episode culminates by pitting the warriors against each other in a computerised battle that calculates a winner using the latest in CGI technology.

Speaking about the series Fox History and Entertainment VP programming Sudha Sadhanand said, “Deadliest Warrior takes a complete look into the lives of the most feared warriors in the history and what makes them so lethal.

"Using the latest in science and technology, the series pits these ancient fighters against each other to offer an unprecedented, action-packed experience to the viewers."

On 21 December, the episode Viking vs Samurai airs. The savage Scandinavian raider class that plundered Europe for almost a thousand years, against the blinding speed and skill of Japan's elite warrior class.

It is power versus speed, axe against sword, berserk rage against precision, as these heavily armored legends face off in a battle to the death.

On 28 December the episode Spartan vs Ninja airs. Spartan, the bronze battle tank celebrated in the movie 300; versus a Ninja, Japan's legendary master of death. The battle pits the ancient world's most extreme warrior against an enemy who obeys no rules, and kills using stealth, poison, surprise weapons and unbelievable agility.
