According to TAM Media Research data (C&S, 4+, HSM) for Week 28, Star Plus and Colors are at par with 22 per cent market share each in the Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) genre.
The GRPs garnered by Star Plus and Colors are 287 and 284 respectively, both attaining a joint No. 1 stature. Star Plus has added 3 percentage points over last week and the IIFA Awards telecast on Star has fetched a TVR of 4.9.
Zee TV has maintained its No. 2 rank this week, with 20 per cent relative share. NDTV Imagine is at No. 3 with 10 per cent share, which is the same as last week.
Sony Entertainment TV has delivered a healthy 120 GRPs and now commands a 9 per cent share of the GEC pie and is just 6 GRPs away from Imagine.
At No. 5 is Sab TV, which has managed to garner 5 per cent share, followed by Star One, which managed 4 per cent. Sahara One follows with 3 per cent share, while DD1, 9X and Star Utsav command 2 per cent share each. Real continues to holds only 1 per cent share of the GEC market.
Balika Vadhu on Colors has reached the 7 TVR mark and is the most watched show among Hindi GECs, followed by Star's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which recorded a TVR of 6.1. Bidayi, at No. 3, could garner 5.7 TVR, followed by the IIFA Awards telecast on Star Plus.
Zee TV's Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo is the fifth most watched programme with a TVR of 4.4. The other programmes in the top ten list are Uttaran and Na Aana Is Des Laado on Colors, and Pavitra Rishta, Chhoti Bahu and Shree on Zee TV.
