MUMBAI: Colors’ ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, which was supposed to go off-air by the end of September, has received an extension of 100 episodes.
However, the show won’t be returning to its original 7.30 pm slot as the new suspense drama, ‘Ishq Mein Mar Jawan’, will be replacing ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ from 20 September to air every Monday-Friday.
Produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ will shift to the new slot of 6 pm from 20 September. It will replace Full House Media’s ‘Devanshi’.
In its third season, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ took a major leap and featured a new cast comprising Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar, Vaishali Takkar, Krissann Barretto, Varun Sharma, Nikki Sharma, Khushwant Walia, Kenisha Bharadwaj, Vandana Vithlani and Rohan Mehra. The plot focuses on Simar (Kakar/Kelkar) and Prem’s (Dhoopar/Sayed) kids Anjali (Takkar), Sanjana (Barretto) and Piyush (Sharma), and how they help their children in their life.
‘Devanshi’ was launched in October 2016 and depicted the story of a young girl’s tryst with a god woman.
Produced by Beyond Dreams, ‘Ishq Mein Mar Jawan’ will start from 20 September.The show features Arjun Bijlani and Aalisha Panwar in lead roles.
Shot in Shimla, the show is said to be based on the Sridevi film ‘Chaalbaaz’. Panwar plays a double role while Bijlani portrays a grey character. The show also stars Arjun Aneja, Mihir Mishra and Tuhinaa Vohr.
The story revolves around the free-spirited Aarohi, who dreams of settling down with the man of her love. Her dreams are crushed when she is arrested as the primary suspect in a series of murders on the day of her wedding. The story takes a turn when she realises that the person she loved the most has set her up.
