Bharti Airtel, the second largest telecom operator in the country in terms of subscriber base, has introduced a new open market tariff plan for its customers. The telecom operator recently decided to do away with talk time recharge plans and had introduced minimum recharges options for its prepaid subscribers. While the move was not well received by its subscribers, the company is trying to simplify its recharge offerings.

The first such step was to remove some of the unpopular recharge options and add more appealing plans to its portfolio. The former market leader dropped prepaid plans priced at Rs 549 and Rs 799 and has now launched a tariff plan priced at Rs 419. This is an open market plan, which means it is available across the country and can be recharge from Airtel online store or through a vendor.

The Rs 419 plan comes with 1.4GB daily data and has a validity of 75 days. Other offers with this plan include 100 free text messages per day and the plan seems to be a minor step up from the Rs 399 recharge plan offered by the telecom operator.

The customers get 1.4GB daily data in addition to unlimited voice calls to any network in the country. Airtel is offering voice calls without any FUP limit and there is also benefit including 100 free SMS per day.

How Airtel’s Rs 419 prepaid plan compares to Rs 399 recharge pack
As mentioned above, Airtel is offering the Rs 419 recharge pack as a step up from the Rs 399 pack already in its portfolio. Both the plans are open market offerings and they mainly differ in terms of validity. The Rs 399 plan also offers 1.4GB data per day but has a validity of 70 days while the Rs 419 plan has a validity of 75 days. Both the plans offer unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day during their validity period.

Customers planning to recharge their Airtel prepaid number with this plan must note that Airtel offers 1.4GB daily data on five other plans priced at Rs 199, Rs 219, Rs 399, Rs 448 and Rs 509 respectively. The Rs 199 and Rs 219 prepaid plans offer a validity of 28 days while the Rs 448 and Rs 509 plans offer a validity of 82 days and 90 days respectively. It is important to note that select users have reported getting 84 days validity on Rs 399 prepaid plan.
