Bharti Airtel silently launches Rs 119 prepaid plan, offers unlimited calling, 2GB data, and more

Bharti Airtel is making its biggest move yet to increase average revenue per user as the competition becomes really tough. The company has silently increased the price of its Rs 99 prepaid plan to Rs 119. Previously, Airtel offered 2GB of data along with unlimited voice calling to its users for Rs 99 and now it is no more offering those same benefits.

The same benefits have been moved to Rs 119 prepaid plan and Airtel has essentially increased the price of the plan by Rs 20. Like many other plans from the company, this new Rs 119 prepaid plan is also a segmented offer and the benefits vary with every user. For instance, the company will offer the best benefit to those who use their Airtel SIM as a secondary connection or a temporary one.

Airtel Rs 119 Prepaid Plan: Benefits and Details
The new Rs 110 prepaid plan from Bharti Airtel is being introduced as a segmented offer in all the 22 telecom circles. According to Telecom Talk, Airtel is offering two types of benefits with this plan. The Rs 119 prepaid plan offers 2GB of 4G/3G/2G data, unlimited voice calling without any FUP limit and 300 SMS for a period of 28 days.

The same plan also offers 1GB of 4G/3G/2G data along with unlimited local, STD and national roaming calls and 300 SMS for 14 days. The validity and data benefit varies for every user under this segmented tariff plan. The report adds that only a minimum number of Airtel prepaid customers are getting this plan for 28 days and the open market benefits apply only for 14 days. This new plan is available for recharge via My Airtel app and through the company website.

What happens to Rs 99 Prepaid Plan?
Bharti Airtel is not completely discontinuing the Rs 99 plan but has removed all the segmented offers applicable with the plan. The Rs 99 plan previously offered similar benefits as the newly introduced Rs 119 plan for 28 days and 14 days, depending on usage. Now, the plan provides standard 1GB of data, unlimited voice calls and 300 text messages for a period of 10 days. The plan has been effectively converted into an open market plan with a validity of 10 days.
