General News Airtel takes on Vodafone with extra 20GB benefit on Rs 399 postpaid plan

Airtel postpaid customers on the company’s most affordable plan have reason to be happy, as the company is now offering an additional 20GB of data for a year on the plan. The Airtel MyPlan Infinity Rs 399 plan currently offers unlimited calls (local and STD) which extends to usage even while on national roaming, along with 20GB of data on 4G/3G/2G per month.

Under the new offer, the company will offer an additional 20GB of data. The terms do not specify whether the data will be offered per month for a year, or if it will a total of 20GB of additional data for the entire year, though we’re inclined to believe that it is the latter.

Therefore, customers will receive 20GB of data allowance per month, supplemented by an additional 20GB that can be used any time. The data rollover benefit for this pack allows users to collect up to 200GB of unused data. The 20GB additional data will presumably expire after one year if not used entirely. While the benefits of the plan are unclear, it’s definitely a boost for Airtel users, who have enjoyed less data benefit that customers on the similarly priced plan on Vodafone.

Vodafone users on the Rs 399 postpaid plan, in comparison, receive 40GB of data per month, along with similar benefits of free and unlimited calls in local and national circles. The data rollover allows up to 200GB of unused data to be collected, and users also receive a one-year Amazon Prime subscription on signing up for the plan. The Airtel basic plan does not offer this benefit, but does give users access to the Wynk Music streaming service.
