Apple launched the Apple Beta Software program effectively releasing the beta versions of iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan for the masses. In a rare move, the operating systems can now be downloaded by one and all for free, so that early adopters can fidget with the beta versions and provide their useful feedback to Apple.

Before we let you know how to download, a word of caution. The beta versions of any operating systems are riddled with bugs and may cause the devices to crash a lot. Furthermore, looking at how buggy iOS 8 official release was, one can only comprehend the amount of bugs that may be plaguing the beta version. Also, it could brick your device (especially older versions of iPhones) rendering it inoperable. We recommend you to wait it out till the official iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan are released which will be optimized fully for most Apple devices.

In any case, if you want to get the beta versions, all you need to do is go to beta.apple.com and install the consumer beta version of iOS 9 or OS X El Capitan after following Apple’s sign up process. For the registration process, you will need to login with your Apple ID, then follow the instructions given.

For IOS, the update is just 213 MB, much lesser than previous versions. If Apple recognizes that your iPhone or iPad lacks any storage capacity, it will automatically ask to delete few apps, which will reappear after the installation is complete. The most notable changes seen on the last developer build of iOS 9 was the News app, tweaks in Apple Music and an entirely redesigned two-factor authentication system.
