BSNL is all out to increase its number of subscribers by launching various plans to revive its landline system and improve its mobile network.
Addressing mediapersons here today, JS Sahota, General Manager, Telephones, Chandigarh, said the BSNL had launched a plan two days ago under which a subscriber could get a landline connection by paying only Rs 49. Earlier, the charges for getting a new connection were Rs 240. No installation charges would have to be paid by the subscriber, who would also be given a free SIM card. The broadband facility would also be made available under the new plan.
Sahota said initially, the plan would be for six months, which could be extended by another six months, depending on the response from the subscribers.
