The LG Nexus 5X is a part of the latest generation of Android Nexus phones, but still is considered as one of the best phones available in the market and is currently among the few phones to have that latest Android Marshmallow operating system. Today, another phone joined the Android M league, the Honor 7 which at Rs 22,999 is one of the biggest competitors of the Nexus 5X. Since both are available for Rs 22,999, let's see which one of these phones is the better value for money device.

The Honor 7 is a phone that looks very premium. Built with glass and metal, the phone has a brushed metal finish on the rear, and is available in black and white colours. It boasts a fingerprint sensor that resides on its rear panel. The Honor 7 is neither light nor the slimmest phone around, with a dimension of 143.2 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm and weight of 157 grams.

The Google Nexus 5X is also a great looking device, if not as premium looking as theHonor 7. It has a matt finish plastic backing, and a metal surround which encases the thin bezels of the display very well. It measures 147 x 72.6 x 7.9 mm and weighs 136 grams. This too has a fingerprint sensor.

The Honor 7 is definitely the classier looking phone, which looks far more premium than the Nexus 5X. However here note that due to its metal body, the Honor 7 is a bit slippery while owing to its plastic body, the Nexus 5X offers much better grip.

Both the phones come with 5.2 inch display that too with the same full HD resolution, that is, 1920 x 1080 pixels. However, Nexus 5X's display has got additional Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. That being said, we recommend using a tempered glass screen protector regardless of which phone you pick.

Processor & Memory
The Honor 7 has the HiSilicon octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, which runs with 3 GB of RAM. Its internal memory stands at 16 GB to which you can add another 128 GB via a micro SD card.

The Google Nexus 5X has a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, clocked at 1.8 GHz, with 2 GB of RAM. But the biggest disadvantage of Nexus 5X is its meagre 16 GB (non-expandable) internal memory.

So despite having a better processor, the Nexus 5X is clearly not the winner here as it not only has less RAM as well as storage space.

Nexus devices are famed for the purest Android experience one can have, and the LG Nexus 5X is no different. The phone just received Android Marshmallow and one can expect it to get future Android updates as well, atleast the upcoming Android N.

The Honor 7 comes with Android Lollipop out of the box, and an OTA update to Android Marshmallow is available now. But in all likelihood it will not be eligible for the Android N by the time of which Huawei will have another flagship for sure.

The Honor 7 has a 3100 mAh battery and as we said in our review, it offers impressive battery back up. As per official figures, the Honor 7 offers up to 350 hours of standby or 8 hours of talk time, on 3G network.

The LG Nexus 5X has a 2700 mAh battery, which as per the company offers 17 hours talktime and standby time of 300 hours on 3G networks.

The LG Nexus 5x has a 12.3 megapixel shooter that has aperture of f/2.0 and it is endowed with laser autofocus, face detection, pixel size of 1.55µm, 4K video recording ability and a dual-tone LED flash. In its front there is a 5 megapixel selfie shooter.

The Honor 7 has a 20 megapixel primary camera with phase detection autofocus, geo-tagging, face detection, HDR, panorama, sapphire lens, Sony IMX230 sensor, 1/2.4'' sensor size, flash, and video recording. For selfies, it offers an 8 megapixel shooter and even a flash light.

The Honor 7 is armed with more features and better specs too, and so is the winner of this round (on paper, at least).

The Honor 7 is a hybrid dual-SIM 4G phone with GPS (with GLONASS and A-GPS), Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi (dual-band, direct, hotspot), and NFC too.

The LG Nexus 5X has just one SIM slot but it offers 4G, GPS (with GLONASS and A-GPS), Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi (dual-band, direct, hotspot), NFC, DLNA, and USB Type C port.

Wrapping Up
The LG Nexus 5X undoubtedly looks better in terms of camera and operating system but in all other areas the Honor 7 looks good. Our vote thus goes for the Honor 7 which especially looks much better than the Nexus 5X in terms of storage.
