General News Fastway launches broadband service in Delhi, HP with speed up to 500 Mbps

MUMBAI: Multi system operator (MSO) Fastway Transmissions-owned internet service provider (ISP) Netplus Broadband has launched the fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service in Delhi and Himachal Pradesh with unlimited plans starting at Rs 499.

Netplus is offering multiple broadband plans at different price points. The ISP’s speed limit ranges from 50 Mbps to 500 Mbps.

With this expansion, Netplus now has its broadband services spread across 100 cities in North India. In Delhi and Himachal Pradesh, the ISP has its operations spread across 10 cities.

Netplus Broadband CEO Prem Ojha said that the ISP is poised to become the largest wired operator of North India with a presence in four states.

The ISP’s unlimited data plan is priced at Rs 699 with 50 Mbps speed. It also has 50 Mbps super speed plans priced at Rs 499 and Rs 599 offering FUP limit of 50 GB and 150 GB.

Netplus is also offering unlimited data plans with speed up to 75 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 200 Mbps, and 500 Mbps for Rs 849, Rs 999, Rs 1599, and Rs 2499 respectively.

Customers who pay five-month subscription fee will get one month free and the ones who pay for 10 months will get two months free.

As reported earlier, Fastway has planned a Rs 250 crore Capex over the next one and a half years to expand its broadband footprint. The company has already invested Rs 150 crore in broadband roll-out in the last two years.

“We have already invested Rs 150 crore in broadband and planning to invest Rs 250 crore more over the next 1.5 years till December 2020,” Fastway Transmission CEO Peeush Mahajan had told TelevisionPost.com.

Mahajan had also stated that the company has already covered 80 cities in Punjab and is targeting 100 cities this year. “Then we will enter 1000-1500 big size villages,” Mahajan had said.

Fastway has migrated to GPON technology. Earlier, it was providing broadband through DOCSIS technology.
