General News Google Maps users on iOS can now change their navigation arrows

Google has introduced a new feature allowing its users to change the blue navigation arrow with an icon of a vehicle in the Driving navigation mode. This new feature is only available for Google Maps users on iOS-powered devices at the time of writing. The company took to its official blog to announce this new feature that will allow Maps users to “customize” their drive. One thing to note here is that the blue arrow is only available in the Driving Navigation mode.

According to the blog post, the users can opt between the three available options ranging from “a stylish sedan”, “a timeless pickup truck” to “a speedy SUV”. To do that, users need to tap on the arrow while in the driving navigation mode and then select the vehicle that they want and hit the road with that new car icon. This new feature is not available on Android or Web but we think that it is likely to arrive on Android sooner than later.

The company is well known for following out a number of visual tweaks to its products that more often than not, seem like intelligent Easter eggs that the developers added it to their products. This new feature looks strikingly like one of those Easter eggs.

It is also interesting to note that this is not the first time where Google has allowed its users to change that blue navigation arrow in the driving navigation mode. This ability to change comes months after the company rolled out a temporary feature where users could replace the blue arrow with Mario cart to celebrate Mario Day on March 10, 2018.
