Google has announced the rollout of a redesigned and improved Google Account hub. This new experience is available for all the Android users while iOS and Web users will have to wait till “later this year” to experience what is new. The company added a post on its official blog to share more details about this redesign. According to the post, the reason for this redesign is increased transparency and more control on the account. This is the first redesign to this page since 2015 revamp where Google brought security and privacy settings in a single place for users to access.

This will be a significant redesign and important move for a majority of users as 20 million people visit the page every day according to the company. The company shared more details about the redesign adding that the section will be easier to navigate where security and privacy features will be “more prominent” to users along with access to detailed summaries of relevant information associated to user privacy and security. Detailed information includes the personal information, devices, payment methods, subscriptions, purchases, contacts, and reservations of any user.

One significant addition that comes with this redesign is the “search” function where users can search for what setting they are looking for instead of trying to fumble around menus and sub menus of pages with no clue on where the actual option is. Google has also added a “dedicated support section” for the time when the user can’t figure out something and requires help.

The support section will have support information about common tasks such as how to change your password and even answers from community experts. Moving towards privacy aspect of the user account, the company added that it has made all privacy options easy to review with its “new intuitive, user-tested design”. Users can take control of what activity data is saved in your account under “Data & Personalization” tab along with an improved and updated “Privacy Checkup” to help users review their privacy settings.

This section will also have a section which will try to explain the impact of any changes that the user makes, will have on their experience across service. Google will also give suggestions to users on how they can improve their security, for example, ask the user to remove their account from old devices that the user may not have used in a while along with unverified apps that one may have granted access to.
