General News Google's new 'Sign-in' screen design starts rolling out

Google is rolling out a new design for the Google sign-in screen this week. The search giant had promised a new interface with Material Design components last month as part of its efforts to give G Suite a new look, but it has come a month late now. In a blog post earlier this week, Google announced the rollout noting that “due to unforeseen delays, we’re now rolling out the new design this week, with some minor changes.”

As for the current design change, the new Google sign-in screen tweaks include Google logo, and center alignment of all items on the screen. But the promised outline around the text field isn’t coming in this update, and will appear in the “coming months”.

Last week, Google brought a new design for Google Chrome in the latest version of its Canary release channel. This release channel is separate from the stable release channel that most users use, and is meant for people who want to check the latest features that Google is working on. The Chromium website pointed out that the Canary builds are updated daily, and the builds are not tested or used for stability.

This new Google Chrome version brings the updated Material Design language that is being referred to as “Material Design 2.0” to the web browser along with a more touch-optimized UI (User Interface) than the current UI of Google Chrome. Here’s the full report.
