General News HOOQ launches new subscription scheme at Rs 89

Video-on-demand service HOOQ has announced the launch of its new subscription scheme for Rs 89 for the first 3 months making it less than Rs 1 per day.

Now consumers can enjoy latest Hollywood movies 90 days after cinema release. HOOQ will now purely focus on Hollywood content given the fact that consumption of Hollywood content has increased drastically in the Indian market.

"After building strong partnerships with leading Telcos as well as with a leading Broadband player, we are now pleased to announce HOOQ's consumer launch. Consumers can now download and enjoy the premium Hollywood content," said HOOQ Chief Executive Officer, Peter Bithos.

"Popular Hollywood TV Shows many of which are exclusive and Popular movies many immediately 90 days after cinema release are the star attraction of our catalog which is one of the finest in the industry," Bithos said.

HOOQ is a start-up joint venture established in January 2015 by Singtel, Sony Pictures Television, and Warner Bros.

Hollywood at a very affordable price clubbed with download and dubbing is certainly one of the most attractive and differentiated offerings. The company also said that viewers can enjoy over 1000's of Hollywood movies and television series through the HOOQ app for mobiles, tablets, smart TV, and PCs. These include titles from Sony, Warner Bros., such as Wonder Woman, The Da Vinci Code and TV series like The Flash, Arrow, Gotham, Friends and much more. HOOQ customers will also be able to enjoy HOOQ exclusives like Lucifer, Supergirl, The Big Bang Theory and DC's Legends of Tomorrow etc.
