General News Karbonn Quattro L50 Vs Lenovo Vibe P1m
#1
Advertisement

The newly launched Karbonn Quattro L50 is priced at Rs 7,990, and it is armed with specs par for the price. The Lenovo Vibe P1M is a device that has been doing very well in the segment, and since it is priced at Rs 7,990, it makes sense to see compare these two phones.

Design
The highlight of Lenovo Vibe P1m is its hydrophobic coating. This splash-proof, nano-coating technology claims to protect it from everyday splashes and spills. Look wise too it is not bad. With thicker side panels and matte finish back cover, the phone should offer a good grip. Also despite having a big 3900 mAh battery, the Vibe P1m is just 9.3 mm thick (dimension: 141 x 71.8 x 9.3 mm) and weighs 148 grams.

The Karbonn Quattro L50 measures 141 x 71 x 8.8 mm and weighs 134 grams. It also has thicker side panels and seems to have matte finish back cover.

Display
The Karbonn Quattro L50 has a 5 inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The Lenovo Vibe P1m too has a 5 inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.

Both these screens are alike, in size and resolution, and their lack of protection.

Processor & Memory
The Lenovo Vibe P1m has the MediaTek MT6735P, a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.0 GHz. It has 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory and a 32 GB microSD card slot.

The Karbonn Quattro L50 has a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM. It too offers 16 GB of internal space as well as an expandable storage slot of 32 GB capacity.

The Karbonn Quattro L50 has a faster processor, but all else remains equal.

Software
Both these phones run on Android Lollipop (5.1). The Lenovo smartphone has the Vibe user interface which has garnered good reviews so far and is quite an old UI. On the other hand, with the Quattro L50, Karbonn has introduced its Kandy UI.

On the new UI, Karbonn said, "Kandy offers an integrated PCM, wherein users can access the dialer, contacts, logs and messages within a single menu with one swipe. Users can also customise their notification and shortcuts tabs to choose which notifications and functions they would want to access on priority giving one touch access to all the frequently used features. Kandy is a treat for music lovers offering varied settings including audio enhancers, volume boosters and surround mode features for a never before music experience."

"With Quattro's Kandy UI, users can also customise the entire look and feel of the device by choosing from a diverse range of themes, icons and colours to reflect their personal style and preference. Users also get higher control over their data usage and information that they choose to share while using apps for a more secure smartphone experience reclaiming control over data expenditure and privacy," the company further added.

Battery
The Karbonn Quattro L50 has a 2600 mAh battery that claims to offer 8 hours talk time or 200 hours of standby; while the Lenovo Vibe P1m has a 3900 mAh battery which can provide up to 16 hours of talk time or 20 days of standby.

This is the Lenovo Vibe P1m's strong point, and it is the winner by a mile.

Camera
The Karbonn Quattro L50 has a 13 megapixel primary camera that comes with an aperture of f/2.0 and phase detection phase detection auto-focus feature. There is an LED flash light in the back as well. For selfies, the Karbonn Quattro L50 offers a 5 megapixel front camera.

On the other hand, The Lenovo Vibe P1m has an 8 megapixel primary camera with autofocus, video recording, and flash light support. It too has a 5 megapixel selfie taker.

Connectivity
Both the phones have dual SIM slot, 4G connectivity, Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi Hotspot and GPS.

Wrapping up
The Karbonn Quattro L50's processor has higher clock speed and it offers a bigger rear camera. Here I would also like to underline that the difference in processor's clock speed is not that big to make a difference and having higher clock speed does not mean better performance. In terms of camera, more resolution doesn't ensure better output. However, in terms of battery, the Vibe P1m is certainly a far better phone.
