Micromax has been rumored for quite some time to launch its new Bharat series of affordable smartphones. Micromax’s Bharat series was speculated to include the Bharat 1 smartphone, which would essentially be a 4G VoLTE-enabled feature phone. Also included in this series, is an Android smartphone dubbed Bharat 2, which was recently spotted online with a price tag of Rs 2,999. The Micromax Bharat 2 has surfaced again, and it is reportedly on sale with a priced tag of Rs 3,499.

The Micromax Bharat 2 was spotted on social media with two pictures showing its packaging and specifications as well. Looking at the retail box, shared by Mahesh Telecom, one can notice that the original price shown is Rs 3,750. The Micromax Bharat 2 is also shown in the retail box thereby revealing its design and look. The smartphone is sporting gold color with the capacitive touch buttons placed below the display. The Micromax logo can be seen placed below the rear camera lens and the speaker grille is located on the bottom part of the back panel. The smartphone looks like it’s clad in a metal body with curved edges.

Micromax Bharat 2 specifications
The Micromax Bharat 2 features a 4-inch WVGA display, and under the hood is a Spreadtrum quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The Bharat 2 comes with 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage that is further expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. In the photography department, the smartphone sports a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash, and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

Connectivity options on the smartphone include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS. The Micromax Bharat 2 is backed by a 1,300mAh battery, and on the software front, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Micromax Bharat 2 would go head-to-head with the likes of Reliance Digital LYF Flame 5, which currently holds the crown for the most affordable 4G VoLTE-enabled smartphone. The LYF Flame 5 is priced at Rs 2,999, and comes with a 4-inch WVGA TN display with Asahi Glass protection. At the core of the smartphone is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The smartphone comes with 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card.

For photography, the LYF Flame 5 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, LED flash, and HDR. Up front, the smartphone houses a 2-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone is backed by a 1,650mAh battery, and on the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, Bluetooth 4.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
