Moeen Ali's all-round heroics in the just-concluded Lord's Test against South Africa have earned him career-best slots in all three ICC rankings chart, on Monday (July 10). Moeen gained three slots in the batting charts to jump to 21st position; broke into the top-20, to the 19th position, in bowling rankings and moved ahead of teammate Ben Stokes in fourth spot, for the first time in his career.

With the latest update, Moeen is now England's fourth highest-ranked batsman, third highest-ranked bowler and best all-rounder.

Moeen was awarded Man of the Match for his contribution of a total of 94 runs with the bat and bowling figures of 4 for 59 and 6 for 53 in the two innings as England crushed the visitors by 211 runs to take 1-0 lead in the four-match series.

Joe Root, who notched up a fine 190 in England's first innings, and his first innings as the Test captain, has moved one spot ahead of his New Zealand counterpart Kane Williamson to be ranked the second-best batsman currently.

Root, who started the Lord's Test trailing Williamson by 32 points, now has an eight-point lead on the Kiwi and can potentially claim the top spot that currently belongs to Australian skipper Steve Smith (53-point difference).

The other Englishmen who gained from the latest update are wicketkeeper-bat Jonny Bairstow (10th), former captain Alastair Cook (11th) and one-down batsman Gary Ballance (59th). For South Africa, Temba Bavuma is now 41st on the list (up by four places) and Vernon Philander 66th (up by eight places).

Philander has also gained one spot in the bowlers' rankings, alongside teammate Morne Morkel, to be now placed 10th and 13th in the charts respectively. The table is headed by India's Ravindra Jadeja, followed by R Ashwin and Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath.

Shakib Al Hasan leads the allrounders' list, with Jadeja, Ashwin, Ali and Stokes as the top-five.
