Back in May, Lenovo launched the Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus smartphones in India, priced at Rs 12,499 and Rs 13,499 respectively. A day later, the Moto G4 Play was spotted on Moto’s US website , and while there are no announcements yet, seems like the smartphone will soon be launched in India. The Moto G4 Play was spotted on Indian import documents, and a report claims it could be launched in India for Rs 8,999.
Moto G4 Play specifications, features:
The smartphone sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. It also comes with 16GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
On the photography front, the Moto G4 Play is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera, supplemented by a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It also features a 2,800mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, and A-GPS. Unlike the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, there’s no support for VoLTE. On the software front, it runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out-of-the-box.
Like the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, it comes with internal water repelling nano coating that would protect the phone from an accidental splash of water but it does not come with the water resistant IP rating like the last generation Moto G devices.
If Lenovo does launch the Moto G4 Play at this price range, the smartphone will be up against the likes of Coolpad Note 3, Honor Holly 2 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy On5 to name a few.
