General News NDTV 24×7 to revamp prime-time line-up from 19 Feb
MUMBAI: Lagging behind on the ratings table, English news channel NDTV 24×7 is revamping its prime-time line-up from 19 February.

The new prime-time line-up will feature six shows of half hour duration each. The prime-time begins at 7.30 pm and ends at 10.30 pm.

The channel will air Livestream at 7.30 pm. Hosted by Natasha Jog and Ankita Mukherjee, the show will look at issues concerning urban India.

Next up is The News at 8 pm hosted by Sonia Singh and Manika Raikwar Ahirwal. The show will feature hard news reported live from across India.

Both Livestream and The News are new shows. The 7.30 didn’t have any show while Left, Right and Centre occupied the 8 pm slot.

At 8.30 pm is Reality Check featuring Srinivasan Jain and Sunetra Choudhury. The show earlier aired in 9.30 pm slot. Besides busting myths, the show promises to do a reality check of major schemes and policies of the government.

Nidhi Razdan helmed Left, Right, and Centre is being cut down to 30 minutes from 1 hour. The show will take a stand on issues while looking at all sides of the story.

With the general elections approaching fast, the channel has introduced a new show called ‘Road to 2019’ which will air every Friday at 9.30 pm.

Trending @ 10 is a show that will look at all the trending stories on TV and online. Hosted by Vishnu Som, the show will air at 10 pm every day.

Currently, NDTV 24×7 programming features News Break at 7.30 pm, Life Right & Centre at 8-9 pm, The 9 O’clock News at 9 pm, Reality Check at 9.30 pm and The Buck Stops Here at 10 pm.

NDTV 24×7 has been steadily losing market share even as other channels like India Today Television and CNN-News18 are growing in viewership. The English news genre is dominated by Republic TV and Times Now.

Recently, CNN-News18 had revamped its prime-time line-up. The channel had launched two new shows – Bottom Line at 6:30 pm anchored by Kishore Ajwani, one of the most well-known face of Hindi news and The Big Debate at 7 pm anchored by Deputy Executive Editor, Sanket Upadhyay.

The channel had also re-slotted some of its existing shows. India 360 anchored by Arunoday Mukharji will now air at 7:30 pm. Face-Off Tonight anchored by Deputy Executive Editor, Zakka Jacob will telecast at 8 pm. Viewpoint anchored by Executive Editor, Bhupendra Chaubey will air at 9 pm.
