Panasonic Eluga A3, A3 Pro with 13-megapixel camera, 4,000mAh battery launched, prices starting Rs 11,290

Panasonic has added two new smartphones to expand its portfolio further. Called Eluga A3 and Eluga A3 Pro, the phones come with a price tag of Rs 11,290 and Rs 12,790, respectively. Both the smartphones will be available starting August 10 across all Panasonic brand shops and other retail outlets.

Both the Panasonic Eluga A3 and Eluga A3 Pro are very similar to each other. The only difference can be noticed in their processor and internal memory. While the Eluga A3 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC, the A3 Pro comes with by an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset under the hood. In terms of the internal memory, the A3 is backed by a 16GB of onboard storage, while the A3 Pro comes with 32GB of flash storage. The memory can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card slot.

In terms of design, the smartphones come with a full metal body. At the rear, there is the camera module and LED flash placed at the center with Panasonic branding placed right at the center of the device. The antenna lines are running along the top and bottom of the smartphone. The volume rockers and the power button is placed on the right-hand side. Up front, there is a home button, which acts like the fingerprint scanner.

In terms of other specifications, both the smartphones feature a 5.2-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Paired with 3GB of RAM, the smartphones run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. The internal memory can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card slot.

On the camera front, both the devices sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and LED flash. On the front, is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Both of them are backed by a 4,000mAh battery and comes equipped with the company’s in-house virtual assistant Arbo.

Both devices support 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB 2.0, front-facing fingerprint sensor, OTG, dual-SIM, GPS and Wi-Fi.

In terms of competition, the smartphones will give a tough fight to the latest launched Lenovo K8 Note and Xiaomi’s best selling Redmi Note 4. However, the Lenovo K8 Note has an upper hand over the Panasonic Eluga A3 and Eluga A3 Pro with its dual-camera setup.
