The channel will be available on the internet, mobile, tablet, desktop and additional digital device services including social media (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc.).
TelevisionPost.com was the first to report that the company had obtained a licence from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) to launch a satellite news channel.
It already runs a cable news channel. The news channel has the potential to reach the entire population of Rajasthan and promises to offer neutral and non-superficial Hindi-language content with extensive coverage in hyper-local-regional-national-international arena. It will have news from all genres like politics, socio-cultural, environment, business and markets, sports, youth and women-centric issues.
Patrika TV takes credit for operating through a wide network of correspondents in all major cities including Delhi, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Chennai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. It has also reporters spread across every district and tehsil of Rajasthan.
Patrika TV intends to reach seven crore Rajasthanis through its multi-platform presence. Its presence will be augmented by its online presence on Rajasthanpatrika.com and Patrika.com. This will be further complemented by social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
The television broadcast business is nothing new to Rajasthan Patrika. Besides a cable news channel, it has experimented with a cable TV network.
Patrika Group also operates FM radio under the brand Tadka FM.
Started in 1956, Jaipur-headquartered Patrika Group is one of the largest Hindi newspaper groups in India. The company’s multimedia business is housed under Sky Media, which includes cable network, television (local news channels in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur). It is also into outdoor publicity business.
With the upcoming launch, Rajasthan Patrika will join the ranks of regional print media players like ABP, Lokmat and Gujarat Samachar, all of whom have a TV presence.
