MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN) is all set to broadcast the paramount opener to the Grand Slam competitions in 2018, the Australian Open. The tournament will customarily be played in Melbourne and will be telecast live and exclusive on Sony Six, Sony Six HD, Sony Ten 2, Sony Ten 2 HD and the SonyLIV App starting 15 January in India.The 106th edition of the tournament will feature top names like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka, Simona Halep and Caroline Wozniacki amongst other world-class talents.
Known as the ‘Fans Slam’, the Australian Open is chronologically the first of the four Grand Slam tennis events of the year. The tournament features men’s and women’s singles as well as men’s, women’s and mixed doubles. The grand slam is played on world-class courts Rod Laver Arena, Hisense Arena, Margaret Court Arena and Open Courts.
SPSN will telecast a live studio wraparound show after the morning and evening sessions through the duration of the tournament on SONY SIX that will also be live streamed on SonyLIV app and website. The show will be hosted by Jason Dasey and will feature expert insights from panellists like Chris Evert, John McEnroe amongst others live from Melbourne.
