With an eye on increasing average revenue per user (ARPU), multi-system operator (MSO) Siti Cable has created a new packaging for its customers in 12 cities under digital addressable system (DAS) Phases I and II.

Siti Cable has increased the price of its entry pay pack. Unlike the earlier three pay-channel packs, the MSO will offer to its cable TV subscribers two options.

The new packaging, which will be effective from 1 July, will have one free-to-air (FTA) pack called Siti Basic and two pay packs, namely Siti Royal and Siti Magnum.

The new packaging is for the cities of Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Delhi, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Kanpur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Varanasi.

Earlier, the MSO had four packages including one FTA pack called Janta and three pay packs, namely Popular Plus, Grand Plus and Premium Plus.

The four packs were priced at Rs 100, Rs 185, Rs 235 and Rs 285 respectively (excluding taxes). It also had add-on packages in addition to these four packages.

Siti Basic offers FTA channels at Rs 100 per month. Zee Media Corporation’s Hindi news channel Zee News, which turned FTA recently, is not part of the FTA package. Siti Royal, which is available for Rs 240 per month, offers all pay channels except English movies, entertainment, business news channels and select news channels such as BBC World and CNN.

The first pay pack offers eight sports channels, namely DD Sports, Neo Prime, Neo Sports, Sony Six, Sony ESPN, Star Sports 2 & 3, and Ten 1 & 3. Only in Mumbai, Siti Royal pack does not have Sony ESPN channel.

In the lifestyle, music and infotainment genres, Discovery Science, Discovery Turbo, Nat Geo People and Nat Geo Music are not part of the Siti Royal pack. Siti Magnum offers all channels across genres and languages at Rs 295.

The subscription fees for the three packages are excluding taxes.
