OnePlus 2 - Rs 24,999

The most exciting device to be launched this week is undoubtedly the OnePlus 2 which is armed with a 5.5 inch full HD LTPS display. Armed with Android Lollipop, with OnePlus's Oxygen OS, the phone runs on a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor and 4 GB of RAM combination. The internal memory of the phone stands at 64 GB, which is not expandable.

Smartphones, tablets launched this week (Aug 3-7)

More than a dozen devices were launched this week, almost half of which belongs to Asus.

This week saw a flurry of launches from many brands, notably Asus, Samsung, and Intex. Gionee, Karbonn, Meizu, and Lava also expanded their product portfolios.

Samsung Galaxy A8 - Rs 32,500

Sony, Panasonic, and Meizu launched their smartphones in the Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 segment while Intex, Videocon, Alcatel, Swipe, Micromax, and Videocon brought few affordable phones. With every passing day, smartphones are getting older quickly as technology is changing at a faster rate. Now for instance, just in April this year Asus brought world's first smartphone with 4 GB RAM. Only a couple of more companies like Lenovo and OnePlus have came out with 4 GB RAM based smartphones. The new Samsung Galaxy J2 is priced at just Rs 8,940. At this point of time, the Samsung Galaxy J2 is confirmed to have a Super AMOLED screen with qHD (540x960 pixels) resolution and a 1.3 GHz quad core processor. However, nothing more is known about the phone yet, atleast officially.

Few days back though media reports claimed that the Galaxy J2 has a 4.7 inch screen, Android Lollipop operating system, 1 GB RAM, micro SD card slot, 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. The reports added that the phone measures 129 x 68.2 x 8.9 mm dimensions and weighs 122 grams. It is said to have dual SIM with dual standby feature. It is said to be available in black and white colours with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Radio, and a micro USB port.

From Intex Aqua Power II to Motorola Moto X Play, several smartphones and a couple of tablets were launched this week.

It wasn't an active week as far as launch of new smartphones and tablets are concerned. Still there were some notable devices which were released in the Indian market. Read on to find out more.

Motorola Moto X Play
The Motorola Moto X Play is armed with a 5.5 inch FHD IPS display. It runs on Android Lollipop, and has an octa-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. The smartphone offers 2 GB RAM and a 128 GB microSD card slot. The phone comes in two models – the 16 GB model is priced at Rs 18,499 while the 32 GB model costs Rs 19,999.

Micromax Canvas Laptab - Rs 14,999

The tablet runs on Windows 10 and has a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor (with maximum clock speed of 1.86 GHz), which runs with 2 GB of RAM.



This hybrid tablet offers 16 GB of internal storage space along with a 64 GB microSD card slot. It has a 2 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera as well. The dual-SIM Micromax Canvas Laptab is a 3G tablet and offers calling, WiFi, and Bluetooth. It has a huge 7700 mAh battery and comes with free Microsoft Office 365.

Intex Aqua Glam - Rs 7,690
The Intex Aqua Glam is equipped with a 4.7 inch HD IPS display. This Android Lollipop based phone has a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM and a 32 GB microSD card slot. There is an 8 megapixel camera in its rear as well as front panels.
