MUMBAI: Dinosaurs are one of the rarest species to exist on our planet. While there have been multiple investigations and advances to understand the world of reptiles, dinosaurs, however, remain mysterious. This month, Sony BBC Earth will premiere ‘Attenborough and the Giant Dinosaur’ starting 11 March at 9 pm.
Legendary presenter Sir David Attenborough brings out the discovery of world’s largest-known dinosaur – a new species of titanosaur. Attenborough and a team of scientists worked relentlessly for 2 years to piece together a 37-metre long skeleton from over 220 bones. Coupled with state of the art graphics, the show tells the story of how the life of such a giant was possible and looks at why the species got extinct.
Sony BBC Earth is home to BBC’s award-winning factual programs and work of some of the world’s foremost factual filmmakers. Rooted in the philosophy of ‘Feel Alive’, the channel promises grand visual spectacle, positive insightful storytelling and a new perspective on knowledge and entertainment.
As a key differentiator in the category, the channel has defined programming slots like ‘Why, How and What on Earth’ @ 8:00 PM for fun and insightful science with shows like Trust Me I’m a Doctor, Bang Goes the Theory etc; ‘Wild Wild Earth’ @ 9:00 PM for nature and wildlife with shows like Deadly 60, Planet Earth II etc; and ‘Earth Explorers’ @ 10:00 PM for adventure and human interest stories with shows like Where the Wild Men Are with Ben Fogle, Life Below Zero etc. The weekend has an exclusive content time band – Earth Specials.
Sony BBC Earth is a premium factual entertainment channel by MSM Worldwide Factual Media – a joint venture (JV) between Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) and BBC Worldwide.
