Sony announced two Bluetooth wearable Walkman headsets, adding to their existing WS620 Series Walkman product line. The Sony NW-WS623 Bluetooth wearable Walkman headset is priced at $148 (approximately Rs 9,490), whereas the NW-WS625 is priced at $198 (approximately Rs 12,700). Both the wearable headsets will go on sale starting June, but there is no word on India availability yet.

The headsets can be used outdoors and during intense workouts. Both Sony NW-WS623 and the Sony NW-WS625 bear (IP65/IP68) certification, which makes them dustproof and waterproof. This allows you to use these headsets while in a shower or when taking a dip in the swimming pool without worrying about the damage. Sony claims that the new wearable Walkman series can withstand extreme weather conditions too, such as hiking on the mountain or swimming in the ocean.

Sony Walkman NW-WS623 and NW-WS625 come with inbuilt storage of 4GB and 16GB, respectively. Both the models can typically last up to 12 hours on a single charge. The battery on the new wearable Walkman headsets is accompanied by quick charge technology that can deliver around 60 minutes of audio playback in just three minutes of charge. However, the battery takes about an-hour-and-half to get charged to its full capacity.

On the connectivity front, the both Walkman models feature Bluetooth and NFC communication technology for pairing. The headsets also have a built-in microphone and can be controlled via Bluetooth-enabled remote. The remote control comes with IP65 splash proof certification and can be worn on the finger.

Sony has also introduced a new music mode called the ‘Ambient Sound Mode’ which is contrary to anti-noise cancellation feature on many headsets. The Ambient Sound Mode allows users to control their audio listening experience and can choose to hear external sound during playback, whenever they want to. The headsets widely support all popular audio formats such as MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC, Linear PCM lossless.

The Sony NW-WS623 comes in black, blue, lime yellow, grayish white color variant, whereas the NW-WS625 model comes only in black color variant.
