In addition to launching the Xperia Z5, Sony today also launched its Xperia Z5 Premium in India. The smartphone is priced at Rs 62,990 and will go on sale on November 7.

Sony had unveiled the Xperia Z5 Premium at IFA in Berlin last month. Its USP is the display, and it is the first smartphone in the world to flaunt a 4K display. The 5.5-inch Triluminos Display features a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, which translates into a pixel density of a whopping 806ppi.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium specifications and features: The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor paired with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Also on offer is 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card.

In the photography department, the smartphone features a 23-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor RS image sensor, pulse LED flash, hybrid auto focus (focus in just 0.03 seconds), 4K video recording capabilities and SteadyShot video stabilization. Like most Xperia smartphones, this too comes with IP65 and IP68 certification that makes it water and dust resistant. There is also a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button on the side.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi MIMO, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, and aGPS and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
