General News: Star Plus to premiere Ted Talks India: Nayi Soch on 10 Dec

MUMBAI: Hindi GEC Star Plus premiere its ambitious show ‘TED Talks India: Nayi Soch’ on 10 December. The show, which will be hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, will air every Sunday at 7 pm.

In the series, Khan will introduce the speakers and engage with them before and after the talks. The 14 episode series will feature speakers sharing big ideas in TED’s signature format of short, powerful talks.

Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor, and Javed Akhtar have reportedly shot their episodes for TED Talks India. Star Plus also created a virtual interactive session between SRK in Mumbai and Google CEO Sundar Pichai who teleported from California (Palo Alto) through Beam, a telepresence robot, to shoot for the show.

‘TED Talks India: Nayi Soch’ is a global first Hindi TV talk show created in partnership with nonprofit TED. This is the first time TED is collaborating with a major network to produce a TV series featuring original TED Talks in a language other than English.

In April 2017, Shah Rukh Khan became the first Indian actor to be invited to deliver a speech at Ted Talk in Vancouver, Canada.

The acronym TED, which primarily stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design, addresses a wide range of topics within the research and practice of science and culture, often through storytelling. It is a collection of 18-minute videos in which people from different backgrounds address current issues.
