Right on cue, Vivo has launched the X9s and X9s Plus smartphones in China. The Vivo X9S is priced at RMB 2,698 (approximately Rs 25,600), while the Vivo X9S Plus is priced at RMB 2,998 (approximately Rs 28,500), and both smartphones are currently up for pre-booking on the official Vivo store in China. The smartphone will be available in gold, rose gold and matte black. However, there is no word on when these devices will be available outside China.

As the name suggests, X9S Plus is the bigger variant of the two, and the USP of them both is the dual front cameras. Talking about the design, both the smartphones look similar to each other except the screen size. Up front, the smartphones come with 2.5D glass on top of the display. There is a capsule-shaped home button below the screen, which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. At the top, you have the dual front camera along with LED flash. At the back, you have the rear camera with LED flash placed at the top-left corner. The Vivo logo is placed at the center. The volume rocker and the power button reside on the right-hand side of the phone. The U-design antenna lines are present at the top and the bottom of the phones.

Vivo X9s, X9s Plus specifications, features
In terms of specifications, the Vivo X9s features a 5.5-inch display with a 1920×1080 pixels display resolution. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone is armed with a 3,320mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Vivo X9s Plus, which is the bigger variant of the two also features a display resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, but with a display size of 5.85-inches. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 4,015mAh battery.

Talking about the camera, both smartphones sport a front dual-camera setup. This includes a 20-megapixel main camera, along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera. At the back there is a 16-megapixel camera. In terms of connectivity, the smartphones come with dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE support, and they run on Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.

If launched in India, the price range suggest that the two smartphones will be in competition with the likes of Oppo F3 and F3 Plus. Both these smartphones also come with dual-front cameras. The smartphones are available in India at Rs 19,990 for the Oppo F3, and Rs 30,990 for Oppo F3 Plus. The Oppo F3 and the F3 Plus sport a 16-megapixel front camera for regular selfies, whereas the other is an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle selfie camera.
