General News Vodafone announces new Rs 597 tariff plan with 10GB data benefit
Vodafone announces new Rs 597 tariff plan with 10GB data benefit: How it compares to Reliance Jio and Airtel

Since the commercial roll out of Reliance Jio‘s 4G service in September of 2016, the telecom industry has been engaged in a tariff war. This war had forced a number of telecom players to shut their business and data prices have in fact fallen by as much as 93 percent. In order to counter Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular have been revising their own tariff plans.

In one such continued effort, Vodafone has launched new Rs 597 tariff plan that does challenge Airtel and Reliance Jio. The Rs 597 tariff plan from the company comes just days after the launch of Rs 159 plan. With Rs 597 plan, Vodafone users will get 10GB of 3G/4G data benefit. The plan also includes unlimited local and STD calls with FUP of 250 minutes daily or a maximum of 1000 minutes per week. The plan also offers free calls on roaming and 100 SMS per day.

The Rs 597 tariff plan from Vodafone comes with a validity of 112 days for those using a smartphone. The plans offers a validity of 168 days for those using the service with a new feature phone. The plan directly challenges similarly priced tariff from Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio.

Vodafone vs Bharti Airtel: Rs 547 tariff plan compared
With Rs 547 tariff plan, Bharti Airtel offers standard validity of 168 days, regardless of smartphone or feature phone users. The plan comes with similar benefits of 10GB 3G/4G data benefit and 100 SMS messages per day in addition to free local, STD and roaming calls.

Vodafone vs Bharti Airtel vs Reliance Jio: Plans compared
Reliance Jio, the fastest growing telecom player in the country, does not offer any plan with validity of 168 days. It has a 5GB per day pack priced at Rs 799 which has a validity of 28 days. It also has Rs 498 plan with a validity of 91 days and data benefit up to 2GB per day.

Other plans from Vodafone and Airtel
Apart from Rs 547 plan, Vodafone also offers Rs 458 plan with 84 days validity and it offers 1.4GB data per day. The plan also includes 100 local and STD calls and SMS and has a validity of 82 days.
