Vodafone has just partnered with Visa in order to give it’s traveling customers discounts on international i-RoamFREE packs. According to a press release, Vodafone postpaid customers who also use Visa Travel prepaid cards can get discounts worth Rs 750 and Rs 500 on the i-RoamFREE packs of 28 days and 10 days respectively.

Avneesh Khosla, Associate Director – Consumer Business of Vodafone India, stated “Vodafone i-RoamFREE plans bring to the table an unparalleled combination of exclusive benefits, high speed experience, worry-free roaming and great connectivity. Our tie up with Visa further strengthens our value proposition of ‘Best Ever International Roaming plan’. So now, whether one is backpacking across Europe, visiting family in the US, shopping in Dubai or attending conferences in Singapore – one can enjoy free calls and data and travel worry-free with the best-in-class prepaid travel card option”.

The i-RoamFREE plan for 28 days is generally priced at Rs 5,000. However, with a discount of Rs 750 on Visa Travel prepaid card, customers will be able to avail the plan for Rs 4,250. Similarly, the 10 days international plan originally costs Rs 3,500, but with a discount of Rs 500 comes down to Rs 3,000.

Both i-RoamFREE plans cover about 65 countries in total. Out of that, 20 countries get unlimited data and calling. The list includes U.S., UAE, UK and European countries along many others. For the remaining 45 countries, you get limited free data and incoming calls. While using the plan, customers also have free access to Vodafone’s customer care for any assistance they need during their travels.

Besides the two plans, Vodafone also offers a daily plan for spontaneous customers, which costs Rs 500 for 24 hours. However, there are no discounts available here. Vodafone also plans on extending the benefits of its i-RoamFREE partnership with Visa, to its prepaid customers. But we’re not sure when that will be as no specific timeline is given.
