Micromax-backed Yu today launched a new smartphone called the YuniquePriced at Rs 4,999, it is among the most affordable smartphones in the country with LTE-capabilities. Speaking of its competition, it will face off against the likes of the Lenovo A2010Phicomm Energy 653, and the ZTE Blade Qulux. We compare these smartphones based on their price, specifications and features to see how they fare.

All the smartphones are quite closely matched, though the Lenovo A2010 takes the crown of the most affordable LTE-capable smartphone in the country with a price tag of Rs 4,990. The other three smartphones are all priced at Rs 4,999 each.

The Phicomm Energy 653 and the Yunique are the two smartphones with a HD (1280×720 pixels) display; while the other two feature a FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display each. In terms of size, Phicomm’s smartphone has the biggest screen at 5-inches, followed by the  Yunique’s 4.7-inch screen, while ZTE and Lenovo’s smartphones feature a 4.5-inch screen.

Yu’s Yunique is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core SoC, the A2010 is powered by a 1GHz MediaTek MT6735 64-bit quad-core chipset, the Energy 653 is powered by a 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 quad-core chipset, while the Blade Qlux is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MTK6732M processor. All processors are paired with 1GB of RAM.

On the storage front, all the smartphones offer 8GB internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card.

The Blade Qlux has an 8-megapixel rear snapper and 5-megapixel selfie snapper. This is followed by the Yunique and the Energy 653, which feature an 8-megapixel rear camera, and 2-megapixel selfie camera. The A2010, on the other hand, features a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel selfie camera. While ZTE’s smartphone seems to have the best set of cameras on paper, megapixels count is not the only criteria when deciding which is best. We will reserve our judgment till we have reviewed the smartphones.

Phicomm’s smartphone has the biggest battery at 2,230mAh, followed the 2,200mAh battery on the Blade Qlux.

Connectivity options on all the smartphones include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, barring the Blade Qlux, all the smartphones run on Android Lollipop.

The Lenovo A2010 then will face some tough competition from the aforementioned smartphones since all of them boast similar set of specifications and features. We will reserve our judgment on which is the best until we have reviewed the smartphones. A detailed comparison table follows.:
