MUMBAI: Zee Studios International, the international distribution arm of Zee Studios, has unveiled its slate for 2018. The slate includes ‘Parmanu’, ‘Beyond the Clouds’, ‘GOLD’, Karan Johar’s ‘Dhadak’, Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika’, and Marathi film ‘Ye Re Ye Re Paisa’.
‘Parmanu’ is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in 1998. Majid Majidi’s ‘Beyond the Clouds’ is a movie that dwells on the adoration of love, life, and nuanced human relationships. Akshay Kumar’s ‘GOLD’ is a biopic based on the life of hockey player Balbir Singh Sr. Karan Johar’s ‘Dhadak’ is an upcoming romantic drama film based on 2016 Marathi language film Sairat. Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika’ is a biographical film about the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi.
Marathi comedy film ‘Ye Re Ye Re Paisa’ is a story of funny misunderstandings that creates trouble for five individuals who are trying to achieve their life goals.
Commenting on Zee Studios International’s strong pipeline, Zee Studios International (Film Marketing, Distribution, and Acquisition) Head Vibha Chopra said, “We are moving in full force with an aim to spread good content from India as far and wide as possible. Understanding International markets and the type of films that appeal to them is imperative and it’s great to see the appreciation we have received from various audiences as well as producers. In 2017, it released acclaimed Hindi films like Hindi Medium, Mom, Secret Superstar, Fukrey Returns, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and various regional successes like Faster Fene and Channa Mereya.
